FUNERAL
SERVICES & GOODS
Personal
consultation with the family and the supervision of all arrangements pertaining
to the funeral service, clergy, cemetery or crematorium previous to, during
and after the funeral.
BASIC
SERVICE
This service
includes, but is not limited to, the services of our support staff in preparing
contracts, correspondence and invoices; and in placing notices, scheduling
personnel and vehicles and other support functions. This service
may also include staff assistance during the funeral service, cleaning
and maintenance of premises and grounds, clerical and accounting staff,
chauffeurs, receptionists, parking lot attendants, and 24 hour telephone
coverage.
VISITATION
This
service includes, but is not limited to, staff during visitation, receiving
and placement of floral tributes, co-ordination of donations and
other duties associated with rites and services during visitation.
DAY
OF SERVICE
This
service includes, but in not limited to, preparations for the funeral service,
staff to direct and assist with the funeral service including the co-ordination
of donations and the receiving, arranging and local delivery of flowers.
DOCUMENTATION
This
charge is for obtaining the necessary information to complete the documentation
legally required in connection with the disposition and/or transportation
of the remains; arranging for the filing of the documentation and registration
of death and providing copies of our Funeral director's Statement of Death
certificates. These charges do not include other professional fees
such as charges by a Coroner, Department of Health, Government Consulates
or Registration and Regulatory Fees.
EMBALMING
Embalming
is not required by law except in certain circumstances and requires authorization.
Certain funeral arrangements selected, such as a funeral with viewing or
the holding of a body for more than 72 hours between death and final disposition
require embalming by funeral home policy. These charges are for the
trained technician responsible for the embalming and preparation of the
beneficiary.
OTHER
PREPARATION
These
services may include cosmetology, hair dressing, placing the body in the
casket or container, special care of autopsied remains, sanitation and
exterior disinfecting of the body when no embalming is authorized.

FACILITIES
& EQUIPMENT
BASIC
FACILITY
This
is the minimum charge made in all cases for the use of our facilities including
our parking area, areas open to the public within our funeral home, our
arrangement office, selection room and other facilities and equipment required
to operate as a licensed funeral services establishment.
VISITATION
This
charge is for the use of our funeral home for the reception of family and
friends over the visitation period and/or the transportation of our equipment
to another facility for the visitation. This may include register
desk, flower stands, donation stands, casket bier, sound system and religious
equipment.
DAY
OF SERVICE
This
charge includes the use of our funeral home, furnishings and equipment
and/or the transportation and use of our equipment to another facility
for the funeral service on the day of the funeral. This may include
a lectern, organ, sound equipment, religious equipment, flower stands,
donation stands, casket bier and casket carriage. Generally speaking,
when services are conducted in a church or outside the funeral home, additional
staff and longer time commitments for both staff and equipment are necessary.
These requirements are covered under Visitation and no additional charges
are made.
FACILITIES
TO PREPARE AND SHELTER REMAINS
(BENEFICIARY)
This
charge includes the use of a room specifically designed and monitored by
the Department of Health for the purpose of preparing and sheltering the
remains of the beneficiary as well as the use of all necessary specialized
equipment for the professional or sanitary care of the remains.

MOTOR
VEHICLES
The charges
shown are for the use of the vehicles for a single occasion. All
transportation charges are for a radius of 50 kilometres and take into
consideration fuel, insurance and maintenance of listed vehicles.
INITIAL
TRANSFER
This
vehicle is used to transfer the deceased (beneficiary) from the place of
death to the funeral home.
GENERAL
PURPOSE/CLERGY/LEAD CAR
The
vehicle is used for a variety of purposes such as the transportation of
clergy to the funeral home or place of funeral service, leading the funeral
procession to the final place of disposition and may be used to transport
a limited number of floral tributes to the cemetery. This vehicle
is also used as a general duties vehicle to, among other things, ensure
that all the legally required documentation has been procured for the day
of the funeral service.
FUNERAL
COACH
This
specialized vehicle is used to transport the deceased (beneficiary) to
the cemetery or crematorium. It may also be used for the transportation
of the deceased to a church or other facility for the funeral service.
SERVICE
VEHICLE
This
vehicle is used by our staff to deliver floral tributes to the cemetery,
church, or other locations as instructed. This vehicle may also be
used to transport the deceased (beneficiary) to other funeral homes, airports
etc. and in the case of immediate disposition, to the crematorium.

OTHER
CHARGES
STATIONERY
Stationery
available includes a selection of register books (inscription included),
acknowledgment cards, pallbearer cards, and thank you notes for the clergy,
organist and soloist.
FAMILY
TRANSPORTATION
A
vehicle is provided on the day of the funeral and, if requested, will call
for family members at a predetermined time and address. This vehicle
will transport them to the funeral home or church as required, on to the
cemetery or crematorium and back to the home or other location for a reception.
ADDITIONAL
LIMOUSINE
Additional
limousines are available from an independent limousine service and are
supplied as requested at its prevailing rate.
FLOWER
CAR
This
charge is for the use of a flower car to transport floral tributes.
TRANSFER
TO/FROM TERMINAL
When
the beneficiary is being transported to or from another city or country,
this charge is for the transportation of the deceased either to or from
the airport.
ADDITIONAL
MILEAGE
Additional
charges will be levied if transportation is required outside the allowed
50 kilometre radius. this quoted rate is for our service vehicle.
These rates vary.
OTHER
USE OF FACILITY
This
charge is for the use of our facility. coffee, tea, juice and supplies
are provided, however any charges for catered food are additional.
CUSTODIAL
CHARGES
If
cremated remains are to be returned to the funeral home prior to final
disposition, a deposit for custodial care will be added to the account.
This deposit will be refunded up to one year from cremation date.
The
funeral home will have the option to bury the cremated remains in common
ground at a cemetery and the deposit forfeited should the cremated remains
not be claimed or final disposition arranged for within one year.
ORGANIST
An
organist is available at an additional charge.
PALL
RENTAL
A
casket pall is available on a rental basis.

MERCHANDISE
Please
refer to our listing of caskets, protective vaults, cremation urns and
personal memorial items for descriptions and prices. Merchandise
is subject to availability.
DISBURSEMENTS
This is
in reference to costs such as cemetery opening and closing fee, crematorium
charges, clergy/church honorariums, organist, newspaper notices (at cost),
death registration and regulatory fees and police escorts.
TAXES
All
provincial and federal taxes will be added where applicable.

Certain government
agencies, religious organizations and societies have entered into contractual
and other agreements with us. These prices are not reflected on our
schedules.

selection of funeral stationery including register book for guest, acknowledgement

Family
and pallbearers transportation is not included in the above charges.
Should this service be desired, it is available at prevailing rates.
When
visitation and/or the funeral service is at a church or other facility,
no price adjustment will be allowed as there is an additional commitment
of both vehicles and staff which offsets the applicable facility charge
for visitation.
